Last Update 16/02/2015
Phil and Barbara Bricknell welcome you to “King Creek Limousins”, 2014 will be their 26th year of knowledge and breeding Apricot Limousins. Foundation Vendors of the Northern Limousin Breeders and sale committee members.
King Creek Limousins (KCL) was founded in 1988 in Wauchope NSW on the Mid North Coast. Relocating in 1997 to Currabubula NSW. “Cambridge” is a 227.5 hectare (562.16 acre) property bounding on the Currabubula Creek situated within the “Liverpool Plains” region. This move has enabled the KCL stud to expand their Pure and French blood lines as well as increased herd and prodigy.
KCL started with a small number of Limousin Red Angus, Limousin Red Poll heifers sired with a French Pure Bull. These genetics instilled both milk and finishing ability in their off spring. These traits are still found within the stud herd today. Our females are raised under commercial conditions and we expect all females to raise good calves annually.
Utilising a combination of Natural services and AI Sires (of both Australian and Imported bloodlines), focusing on quality and temperament with an increased use of polled genetics. Placing a high priority on producing functional and structurally sound cattle of good docility. All our calves must at weaning pass an on farm criteria, including testing for docility as well as structure and growth for age.
Phil & Barbara are proud to be members of the LIMOUSIN ASSURANCE PROGRAM (LAP – click the tab for more information). Under the LAP, KCL only sells registered Limousin cattle which have been docility scored. We also provide warranties for fertility and docility. All registration and EBV’s are provided with purchase.
Phil & Barbara in 2014 are looking towards future plans for the King Creek Limousin Stud with introduction of new bloodline’s and increased natural servicing within a younger herd. Along with an additional second herd which will introduce a new era of KCL and Black Limousins.
KCL looks forward to continually improving the standard of our Limousin cattle available to the market place through breeding quality males and females that are functional under stud and commercial conditions.
We strive to meet the LIMOUSIN ASSURANCE PROGRAM criteria for
- Easy calving
- Polled genetics
- and Growth
In all the cattle we produce.
